This policy describes how Vovo collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data for driver accounts when using the Vovo Driver app and related services.
Information We Collect
- Driver profile information, contact details, account identifiers, and KYC documents.
- Trip and operational information such as bookings, trip status, timestamps, support interactions, and payout records.
- Device and app usage information such as app version, diagnostics, crash/performance signals, and security logs.

- Precise location (GPS coordinates).
- Approximate location (network/cell/Wi-Fi based location).
- Background location when the driver is online, on an active trip, or when required for live trip operations and safety.
How We Use Information
We use collected data to provide and improve driver services, including to:
- Onboard and verify drivers, and maintain account security.
- Match drivers with nearby ride requests and optimize dispatch operations.
- Provide navigation support, pickup/drop ETA updates, and trip live tracking.
- Enable safety features, fraud prevention, incident investigation, and dispute resolution.
- Process earnings, settlements, and payout-related records.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and audit obligations.
When Location Is Collected
- Foreground: while the app is open and location permission is granted.
- Background: when the app is running in the background and the driver is online or on an active trip, only for operationally required features such as live trip tracking, safety, and dispatch reliability.
Sharing of Information
- Riders may receive operationally necessary trip details, including live trip progress/location context needed for pickup and trip completion.
- Authorized service providers (for hosting, mapping, communications, support, and payments) may process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- Regulators, law enforcement, or courts may receive data when disclosure is legally required.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for ride operations, safety/fraud controls, support and dispute handling, financial settlement, and legal compliance. Retention periods may vary by data category and applicable law.
Your Choices and Controls
- You can manage location permissions in your device settings at any time.
- If precise or background location is disabled, some core driver features may be limited or unavailable, including going online, receiving nearby trips, live trip updates, or completing certain ride workflows.
